Resting at the northern end of Lake Maggiore in the canton of Ticino, where the Maggia river forms its delta, lies Locarno, the Swiss town with the mildest climate – 2300 hours of sunshine per year. The "Lady of the Camellias" attracts visitors with its Latin charm, mediterranean weather and subtropical flora. Locarno is above all a town for bons vivants. On summer evenings, the Piazza Grande is the place to meet. It is the town's heart bordered by elegant façades, climbing plants and street cafés.
